ATOM Active Service Assurance

Modern 5G networks are dynamic, virtualized, and cloud-native environments that deliver a diverse range of differentiated services requiring new network testing and monitoring approaches. Consequently, active service assurance provides the necessary mechanism for monitoring network performance by generating and injecting application-based synthetic traffic into the network to verify the data plane and service throughput in real-time.

Anuta Networks ATOM Active Service Assurance (ASA) follows these principles by providing a testing interface that helps to verify the configured network services, allowing any issues to be identified and resolved rapidly before impacting the end user.

ASA also provides the capability to test the services immediately after provisioning to validate the functionality and performance of the services configured on the network. Using ASA, operators can quickly identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues. Most importantly, ASA ensures that network operators provide the appropriate bandwidth and fare services per customer SLAs.

A fundamental element is the ASA test agent. It is a component that can be deployed within arbitrary network locations and used to generate, receive and analyze network traffic. The ASA server also builds analytics dashboards and reports and can perform tests such as TWAMP, DNS, HTTP, and TCP/UDP, among many others. ATOM ASA, when coupled with ATOM Workflow, can automatically remediate any service degradation, thus ensuring SLA compliance.

Benefits of ATOM's Active Service Assurance

Improved Customer Experience

ATOM runs on-demand tests like TWAMP, DNS, HTTP, and more while measuring key performance indicators (KPIs) & service-level agreement (SLA) monitoring metrics

Improved Visibility

ATOM ASA sends ICMP/UDP packets to trace the network path and measures delay, jitter, and loss for each hop.

End-to-End Higher Quality Insights

ATOM ASA continuously monitors services and stores test data in a time-series database. The data can be displayed in graphs or charts and downloaded in multiple formats such as XLS, PDF, and more.

Massive Scalability

Multiple test agents can be deployed dynamically to match defined network requirements and policies. ATOM also offers centralized agent lifecycle management that simplifies ongoing network operations.

Analyze RCA and Reduce Mean Time To Resolution

Service Activation Test (SAT) results can be utilized for analysis and troubleshooting. For example, speed test results provide TCP information to identify the congestion window, maximum TCP active sessions, and more.

Reduce Operating Cost

ATOM ASA reduces manual efforts typically associated with service assurance using intelligent automation, significantly decreasing operational costs and improving margins.

Additional features of ATOM's Active Service Assurance

Easier Test Agent Deployment

ATOM ASA test agents can be easily deployed in strategic network locations in the form of lightweight appliances in Docker containers and VMs.

Layer 2 – 7 Testing

ATOM ASA test agents can generate synthetic traffic and measure the quality of multiple applications, services, and domains.

Holistic Dashboard View

The ATOM ASA dashboard provides real-time aggregated views of monitoring, tests, and information of sites & test agents,  eliminating swivel chair management.

Real-Time Monitoring

ATOM ASA test agents can be deployed at critical locations for continuous and real-time monitoring.

Alerting and Alert Correlation

ATOM ASA test result data can be used to set alert thresholds and send alert notifications via email and many popular collaboration tools, including Microsoft Teams, Slack, and more using out-of-box ATOM Workflow.

Triggered action and Remediation

ATOM ASA can set a prescribed action based on test-based triggers and perform remediation when required.

Pre-Built Library of Tests

ATOM ASA provides a pre-built library of tests that support many probes from Layer 2 to Layer 7, such as HTTP, Speed, Ping, DNS, TCP, UDP, QOS tests, and more.

Custom Test Suite Capability

Using the ATOM Workflow builder, multiple test probes can be combined,  such as HTTP and Speed, to form a custom test suite.
